Malaysia's 'most haunted' house is possibly closing its doors to ghost hunters and thrill-seekers as it has been sold to an unnamed buyer for a whopping 1 million USD.

Along with two luxury cars - a Porsche and an Alfa Romeo - left inside the bulding, the infamous Selangor Ghost House in Bukit Gasing was successfully auctioned off on December 13, commercial property agency Selangor Auction Property said.

A spokesman for the company said: 'We don't know exactly who the bidder was, but one thing is for sure: it was sold for 4.4 million RM.'

They added that the house had actually been up for sale even before 2021, but no one had ventured to buy it until now.

The eerie two-storey mansion with an area of 18,694 square feet has gained notoriety among the locals who claim it was the site of a grisly murder before it was abandoned.

Residents believe the place was where a scorned wife supposedly decapitated her husband's mistress and displayed her head on the gates before hanging herself on the balcony.

News of the SG House sale was met with mixed reactions from the locals as it has been empty for more than 20 years.

The buyer's identity has not yet been revealed. It is also unclear what the property will be used for.
