A truck ploughed into a row of parked cars in Orenburg, southern Russia, after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

Footage captured on January 3 shows the moment the truck collided with the parked vehicles, damaging nine cars.

A resident living nearby said this crash was like an "alarm clock" as it happened early in the morning.

According to a police report, the driver fell asleep at the wheel but he was not injured.

During Orenburg's snow night, the truck rushed down the road, colliding with parked cars before coming to a halt. Based on sources, police officers found that the truck driver fell asleep while driving and damaged nine cars.

One of the citizens who live in this area commented on social media that the accident served as a kind of "alarm clock" because it occurred in the early morning of the third of January. For car owners, the new year did not start very well. Many people believe the driver was drunk or tired from working night shifts. The driver is fine.
