Bizarre footage has emerged from China of a drunk driver sleeping next to the car he crashed.

In the clip, which was filmed in Chongqing on May 18, the driver snoozes on slab of rock with his upside down vehicle right beside him.

As if that wasn't incriminating enough, security camera footage of the accident showed him veer off the road into the park area where he was found.

Police detained the man as he was about to run away.

The CCTV video shows a car crashes into the greenbelt and flips over.

The man sleeping on the stone was the car driver and the accident was caused by his drunk driving.

Police caught him when he was about to run away.

The case was in further investigation.
