This is the dramatic moment a stage display collapsed as school officials were giving a speech in Thailand.

Footage shows the heavy metal frame toppling over and covering the executives with a tarpaulin at the Ban Tuerahmitraphap 172 School in Narathiwat province on January 14.

School principal Plaifa Amornrattakun was reeling off his closing remarks for Thai Children's Day activities when the display nearly hit his head.

Fortunately the metal bar missed all of the staff and non of them were hurt.

In a statement, the school said: 'The video is real, and happened during the closing ceremony. It occurred due to a sudden gust of strong wind.

'In any case, no one was injured from the incident.'
