David Nicoll from Nairn, Scotland, made lots of money after depositing his Coke bottle coin collection he had thrown his spare change into every day for three years.

The 51-year-old landscape gardener took his granddaughter Ayla to cash his coppers and silvers in and was completely astonished to see he had saved £3291.

He admitted that the penny bottle task was more about filling up the bottle than the value of the coins - a fun family task which cumulated in each family member guessing the worth.

On 18 August, David and Ayla hauled the bottle to the Royal Bank of Scotland in Inverness to see their dedication manifest.

David poured the coins into the bank's mechanical counter and watched the number on the screen go up and up.

David said:"The video has received an incredibly positive response on TikTok and now everyone is planning to start saving their change, I can’t believe how many people have seen my video.

"I have already started our new bottle for saving."

He plans on investing the money into his three grandchildren.
