A brave pet cat teamed up with a grandmother to chase a deadly snake out of their house.

The black feline shrieked was the first one to find the serpent slithering across the kitchen floor in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 9.

It was shrieking loudly so the senior resident curiously went to check before she saw the snake too.

As the old woman frantically searched for a tool to control the wild animal, the cat remained in the room to keep it from escaping.

Footage shows the old woman and cat working together to expel the intruder from their home. The grandmother used a pole to scare the creature until she finally pushed it out of the back door.

House owner Chanya Thonglek said: ‘My pets were helpful. They know it's their home too and should take part if something goes on. I am so proud of my dog.'
