This couple were in the Aussie outback when they encountered a venomous snake that bit one of them on the ankle, resulting in an emergency evacuation via helicopter.

Benjamin Cramp and his partner were on Fraser Island, off the east coast, when they decide to camp overnight on the beach.

They got up for the beautiful sunrise and used their drone to capture the moment but it crashed near some bushes and trees.

When Benjamin recovered the equipment, he was struck with a sharp pain whilst wading through the bush and upon getting back to their vehicle, noticed two fang marks on his ankle.

Fortunately there were some surfers who were able to drive them back to a pickup point, as Benjamin had to be medically evacuated by helicopter back to a facility where the bite could be treated.

Benjamin made a full recovery but was lucky he made his way to a point of medical contact.
