A four-storey residential building collapsed after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey on February 6.

Footage shows the wreckage of the flattened apartment as locals inspected the damage in the Veysel Karani neighbourhood of Sanliurfa city.

The quake was recorded at a depth of 24.1 kilometres.

Aftershocks have also been reported in central Turkey a few minutes after.

The agency said the tremors also jolted Cyprus, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, the United Kingdom, Iraq, Georgia, and Armenia.
