Foam has covered the River Bollin in Macclesfield, UK, leaving local residents concerned about its possible ecological impact.

Footage captured on February 23 shows a thick bubbly foam floating on the river's surface. A fish carcass is also seen in the river.

Residents have taken to Twitter to voice their concerns. One local wrote: "What is being dumped in the River Bollin? This is the second day the river is like this! There are kingfishers and herons nesting here."

Another said: "River Bollin #Prestbury covered in foam this morning. Poor wildlife!"
