A giggly couple fell into a river when their hammock string snapped while they were recording themselves.

Viela Rabisanto, 22, said she wanted to document the nature trip with her boyfriend Nei, 26, so she set up a camera on a tree to capture the moment with the beautiful background in Laguna province, the Philippines, on February 27.

But while they were enjoying the moment together swaying on a swing, the ropes gave in from their weight and so the lovers plunged bottom first into the water.

Footage shows the happy couple sitting together on the hammock before it broke seconds later.

Viela said: ‘We wanted to document the trip and edit it into a romantic getaway video. I told him we would fall, but he didn't listen. He said it was durable.'

The girlfriend burst into laughter as they helped each other stand up from the photoshoot fail.
