Locals are flocking to a tree's unusually-shaped branches - that resemble male genitalia.

The Chan Pha tree stands next to an outdoor pool between the Chuen Ura Cafe and Som Tumm Krok Luang restaurant in Phayao province, northern Thailand.

In recent years, several branches have sprouted from the trunk that hilariously resembles male members. The wooden 'penises' vary in size and circumference are growing near the middle and base of the tree.

The tree has become a local sensation, with residents and customers flocking to it to take selfies. Some believe that the tree will bring them good luck if they touch the phallus-shaped sprouts.

Visitor Punnavit Yoodee, who lives nearby, said: 'People started talking about the rude shapes on the tree then recently lots of customers came to see them. I thought it was funny.

'Nobody knows why they started growing like that. It's quite unusual, none of the other trees have them. Some people have been praying to the tree to bring them godo fortune. They said the owner should make it into a shrine.'
