An amusing starfish with five penis-shaped tentacles had beachgoers in fits of giggles.

The chubby sea star with rounded tips emerged during low tide on a sand bar where it was found by Xandrey Pepito Barrot and friends in Davao de Oro province, the Philippines, on July 22.

Footage shows the brownish-coloured marine animal resembling human male genitalia as it sat on the boat with the island hoppers.

Xandrey felt the sea creature with his left hand while recording it with the other and was heard saying in the video: ‘Ew, slimy.'

The phallic-looking animal is a type of Choriaster starfish, more commonly called a granulated sea star. They live in shallow water but can also be found on deep-sea beds.
