Rescue teams saved a heavy boar stuck that fell into a muddy ditch in Thailand.

Emergency wildlife volunteers battled to save the hefty swine trapped in the mud next to the Wat Lang Bangpakong temple in Chachoengsao province on March 20.

Using long wooden beams as makeshift crowbars, they tried to pry the dirty squealing hog from the quagmire, but failed to lift it up.

A rescuer later jumped into the thigh-deep muck and pushed the boar from behind, allowing it to climb up to safety.

The rescue mission took 10 minutes. The boar was given water to relieve its thirst.

Monks said they have been raising the boar at the temple. It was allowed to roam free, but is believed to have fallen into the ditch while foraging.
