A bungling driver survived a horror crash - plunging from the third floor of a shopping mall and landing on a coffee shop.

The Toyota Fortuner barreled past shops in the pedestrian area after accelerating and losing control in the car park shortly before midnight on March 21.

The vehicle left a trail of broken pots, dirt, and shattered glass across the tiles after ploughing through decorations on the walkways.

It then crashed into the railings near an escalator and plummeted several storeys down to the mall's basement.

The unnamed driver suffered an injured arm but emerged from the wreckage almost unharmed.

He claimed he was moving goods from his car to his store, but the accelerator pedal became stuck, preventing him from braking.

No one else was hurt as the accident happened while the shopping mall was closed.

A shopkeeper in the building who witnessed the crash aftermath said they 'felt sorry' for the driver who now faced a large bill paying for the damage to the building as well as to his own vehicle.
