A bull held up traffic when it climbed up the roof of a pickup truck.

The water buffalo was being transported to a farm when the vehicle it was boarding stopped to wait at the red light in Trang province, Thailand on March 23.

But while travelling along the busy road, the creature was suddenly terrified and worked its way up on top of the car.

Footage shows the pickup truck driver being assisted by onlookers and motorists to pull the animal from the roof.

Onlooker Patcharin Roungmanee who was driving a car behind said: ‘It might have been scared by the honks of the vehicles around. It was a busy day and too hot to travel without a canopy under the sun.'

The bull did not damage anything and was secured on the back of the truck and left with its owner.
