Swiss artist builds 1.9 meter tall metal boombox weighing 700 kilograms for Art Drive-In park
David, a 33-year-old artist and metal sculptor based in Switzerland, builds a large metal boombox that is 3 meters (9.84 ft) long, 1.9 meters (6.2 ft) high and weighs 700 kilograms (1543.24 pounds) to display at Art Drive-In. Art Drive-In was inspired by COVID-19 quarantining rules to allow locals to still enjoy art from their car.
David combines metal welding and plasma cutting techniques to build the boombox and the entire project takes him around 100 hours to complete. The completed sculpture is so big that a crane is needed to lift it onto the back of a truck.
