Saturday morning april 8th, 2023 it was rather chilly in central Valais canton, Switzerland. It was 1°C, and there was a risk of frost.. so some of the local fruit producers were using thousands of sprinklers to spray water on their orchards, on their trees, so IF it gets below freezing temperature that water would freeze around the trees and protect them as they are blooming ... it is a preventive action to prevent frostbite damage to fruit trees here . As I was up on a hill above the village of Ardon I saw the sprinklers very intensely as they were backlit by the sun, and this made for some very photogenic views.
