A huge possum was spotted walking across the meat section at a supermarket.

Grace Carravelli, 23, posted a video of the critter on TikTok after it was filmed by her sister, 29, at a Coles supermarket in Mitcham, Melbourne, Australia, on April 11.

Spotting the creature from "a distance away", she initially believed she'd seen a rat. "

But on closer inspection, she was "shocked" to find a wild possum crawling over packs of raw meat. "

Grace's sister - who does not want to be named - a food technologist, from Melbourne, Australia, said: "I saw the possum running all along the meat section, and I thought - 'oh my god, yuck' - I was actually quite scared. "

"I didn't know who to tell, but I found a young girl who worked at the supermarket doing a stock take. "

"I showed her what was happening and she went off to find her manager."

Shortly afterwards, two more supermarket workers, along with their manager, tried to contain the possum with "a plastic bag". "

Grace's sister left before finding out what happened to the possum after it was caught - but hoped it would be "safely returned" to the wild."
