This video shows a man being given the fright of his life as he was confronted by a huge BEAR while relaxing at home.

Doorbell camera footage shows David Oppenheimer on a lounger in his porch when he suddenly realises that a large bear has crept up alongside him just a few feet away.

As the giant mammal casually strolls by, David suddenly becomes aware of it and jerks up as he and the bear make eye contact.

Both man and bear then stare at each other for a couple of seconds before the bear makes a run for it.

David from Ashville, North Carolina, USA captioned the video: "Chillaxing at the end of the day, didn't expect to make eye contact so close. "

"Good thing we are already acquainted."

The video was filmed on April 15.
