This footage shows eerie mist flooding an airplane cabin.

Passengers were seated on a Spring Airlines flight from Guangzhou to Hangzhou in China when the incident unfolded.

The smoke-like substance can be seen wafting through the jet while overhead screens are playing.

Experts say mist on flights is normal and is usually caused by the air conditioning being turned on, which causes a large drop in cabin pressure.

Air humidity present in the air then condensates into water droplets - and appears as similar to mist, fog and clouds.

The video was shot on May 6.
