A wild aggressive monkey jump-punched a backpacker inside a forest in Bali.

Footage shows the plump primate running behind tourist Skye Martin from New Zealand, who rested after a day tour at the Sacred Monkey Forest on the Indonesian holiday island on April 25.

The creature then leaped up to hit the back of her head while her friend was recording her in the lush green surroundings.

Shocked, Skye quickly stood up and backed away from the creature still eyeing her.

Skye said: ‘I don't know what I did to make the monkey so angry. I will never forget that monkey.'

The backpacker held no grudges against the monkey but recorded dozens of others causing similar problems.

One primate was seen grabbing a woman's trousers while another stole a tourist's hat as she was seen sitting on a wall.

Footage shows another vicious monkey perched on a wall with a stolen pair of glasses before baring its fangs at the owner when he tried to retrieve them.

Aside from attacking humans, the monkeys were regularly seen tussing with each other.

Skye added: 'They're cute but out of control.'
