Extreme weather of heavy rains resulted in landslides hitting house in Indonesia.

Footage from Muaro Koto Rantang, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province on May 3, shows a number of residents trying to save a 57-year-old woman who was trapped in the bathroom when the back of her house was destroyed by a landslide.

The victim was taken out of there an hour later, then rushed to the hospital, but died on the way.

Novri Agus PW, Rantang City Village Official, said that three hours earlier the area around the landslide had been hit by heavy rain since 3:00 a.m.

"When the landslide occurred at around 6:15 a.m., that Wednesday morning, the victim was in the bathroom, and suddenly the cliff behind his house collapsed. The landslide material and the destroyed bathroom building trapped the victims inside," Novri said.

Extreme weather of rain and strong winds hit most parts of Indonesia in the last few weeks.

The local government has warned residents in disaster-prone areas to be on alert for landslides, floods and fallen trees.
