Wranglers were called into action when a cow escaped it's corral and made its way onto Interstate 75 in Michigan, on Sunday, May 21.

The cow was initially stuck in a gravel pit on Belford Road near I-75 in Holly Township.

Police footage shared to Michigan State Police social media, shows the wranglers trying to keep the rampant steer off the busy road whilst trying to capture the cow.

One wrangler on horse was flanked by another on an ATV as they tried to shape up and lasso the loose steer.

The cow made its way onto the highway where the wrangler in pursuit on horseback was able to throw the rope around the neck of the animal, bringing the chase to a halt in the central reservation safely for animal and motorists.

“Eventually after much tom foolery, the critter was captured and removed from the freeway,” MSP Second District tweeted alongside the video. “Troopers reopened the freeway and things quickly got back to normal. The bovine was not charged and is back in the pasture with a story to tell all the other livestock.”
