Shocking footage has emerged from China of police shooting an escaped yak dead.

In the video, captured in Suining, Sichuan Province last Thursday, the animal can be seen running on a busy road, after it escaped from a transport vehicle.

Police later shot it dead in an alleyway.

According to local reports, one woman was charged by the wild yak and was badly injured, with at least a broken collarbone.

According to local news, the yak broke the fence and escaped from the lorry when lorry driver Mr Zou unloaded the ten yaks.

One woman was crashed by the yak and got injured. So Zou sent her to hospital and called police for help.

Police shot six times to kill the yak.

The woman's collarbone was broken but she was alright and still in treatment.
