A rail accident between two trains killed at least 288 people and injured more than 900 in India's Odisha state on Friday (June 2). Over 3,400 passengers were traveling on the carriages at the time of the incident.

This footage, which was filmed on June 4, shows workers, emergency services, and members of the public on the train tracks after the crash. The video also features images of victims of the disaster lying on hospital beds.

KS Anand, chief public relations officer of the South Eastern Railway, said that the accident was caused by a signal failure.

Rail services are expected to resume on Wednesday (June 7).
