A lorry fails to stop on A5 Tamworth and collides with the rear of my car

There is damage to rear of my car, all is smashed and rear window has shattered, as well as possible engine damage due to the impact. I received injury to my lower back due to force but not serious.
He just got out the cab and we moved vehicles to side of road. As he was foreign there was a language barrier, but we was able to swap details until police arrived with translator to further help swap details.
He appeared to mentioning about the automatic braking in the lorry, but it was difficult to understand due to the language barrier. There had been another accident further up so there was tailback in both lanes – which I was stationary at the time of the crash.
The police were called who blocked the one lane off. They helped us swap further details through use of translator. There is no incident number this.
I live in Wolverhampton. I was on my way to work in Tamworth.
