Artist makes amazing 3D hyperrealistic drawings of banknotes
An artist makes amazing hyperrealistic 3D drawings of banknotes.
Time-lapse footage shows the detailed artwork slowly coming to life as self-taught painter RJ Rey Agones Burlat uses shades of white, blue, purple, green, and yellow,
RJ uses watercolour, pencils, and ballpoint pens to finish up the image depicting a 1,000 PHP bill sitting on a white platform.
His other works using the technique include coins, scrunched-up money, and soda cans. The 1,000 PHP banknote painting was later sold to an anonymous buyer for 5,000 PHP (72.22 GBP).
RJ, from Surigao del Sur province, the Philippines, said: ‘I have been doing 3D hyperrealism for around six years. I was inspired by Italian illustrator Marcello Barenghi and thought I could do that too.'
The hyperrealistic artist added his passion for the arts, started as a little boy and continued with it as a hobby when he was older working as a draftsman at the local government office.
He said: ‘When I have free time in the office, I do my drawings. I am happy that many people appreciate my art. It encourages me to create more.'
Hyperrealism is a style of art that depicts subjects in a highly realistic manner, often to the point where they appear to be photographs. Artists who work in this style often use photographs as reference material, and they may spend hours or even days painstakingly recreating every detail of their subjects.
