State trooper rescues fawn that got its head stuck in wire fence and reunites it with its mother

A police officer rescued a fawn that was trapped in a fence on the side of a busy highway and reunited it with its mother.

State Trooper Mollie McClure was patrolling Interstate 94 near Avon in Minnesota, USA, when she spotted a female deer "pacing back and forth" near a fence."

As she approached, McClure found the little one was stuck in the fencing.



Body camera footage shows the moment McClure freed the fawn from the fence and lifted it over the barbed wire to be reunited with its mother.

Minnesota State Police posted this statement on social media: "An unusual call for help had Trooper Mollie McClure jumping into action."

"While working enforcement on Interstate 94 near Avon, McClure noticed a female deer pacing back and forth along a fence line adjacent to the interstate. "

"As she watched, she could hear what sounded like a vocal young fawn. "

"McClure ventured toward the sounds. Turns out the little one was stuck in the fencing. "

"McClure wiggled the fawn from the fencing and reunited it will its mother. "

"Great job, Trooper McClure!"

The footage was filmed on May 28.
