This is the terrifying moment a dust devil tornado spun towards a farmer while she was plowing a field in Thailand.

The local had taken her tractor to till the area when the small twister appeared and barreled towards her in Khon Kaen province on March 25.

Video shows the fast-moving air column whirling straight towards the shocked lady who had no time to react. The rotating winds flung dust and bits of grass at her before emerging on the other side.

Dust devil tornadoes are types of whirlwinds that form when the sun heats a patch of land and the air above becomes warmer and rises quickly.

Cooler air then moves into the low-pressure gap left by the rising warm air. The new drafts of cooler air also heat up and rise and the cycle continues, picking up dust and debris and making the spiral visible.

They are not as dangerous as supercell tornadoes, which can cause severe damage.
