Upon waking from the anaesthesia, 18-year-old Raegan descended into an unexpected delirium, claiming her tongue had "split in two" and her mouth refused to open.

The young patient's anaesthesia-induced confusion triggered a wave of emotion, leading her to believe her surgery had left her with a permanent speech impairment. A glimpse in the mirror confirmed her bizarre assumption that her tongue, to her, appeared cleaved in two.

To calm her daughter down, Laura promised her a delicious tropical smoothie.

Fast forward a few hours, post-nap Raegan was shown the hilarious video of her antics. Despite her initial fear, the teen found her "split tongue" episode pretty amusing.

Laura told Newsflare: "She was loopy like this for about 30 minutes or so. After awakening from her nap later on, I showed her the video. She didn’t remember thinking her tongue was split but thought it was pretty funny."

This footage was captured on July 5 in Seaford, Delaware.
