Fans lay flowers and letters outside Paris' Maison Gainsbourg, a museum and cultural institution dedicated to the French singer, following the death of his ex-partner Jane Birkin.

Birkin was found dead at 76 on July 16 by her caregiver. It has been reported that she previously suffered a mild stroke.

The Maison Gainsbourg, located in Paris, is a museum dedicated to the singer Serge Gainsbourg. It is made up of two spaces: 5 bis rue de Verneuil with the family home of Serge Gainsbourg between 1969 and 1991, and 14 rue de Verneuil with a museum, a bookshop-boutique and the Gainsbarre. Its opening to the public is scheduled for September 2023.
