Chaos as storm sends tables and chairs flying while diners attempt to eat outside
This is the chaotic moment a storm battered a restaurant - sending tables and chairs flying as diners sat outside.
Customers were enjoying their dinner when the storm slammed into the roadside eatery in Khon Kaen province, northeast Thailand, on Saturday night.
The customers ran inside as gusts blew through the outdoor dining area.
Plastic chairs were swept towards the road, with frantic staff running to retrieve them. The gales then grew stronger and blew down more tables, spilling plates and bowls of food on the floor before heavy rain finally fell.
Owner Khingkhing Jamille said there were no warnings about the storm before it crashed into the building.
She said: 'It came out of nowhere. Everyone ran inside while the chairs and tables were blowing onto the road. The staff had to chase after the furniture.'
The incident came days after the tail end of Typhoon Talim touched the region, having caused chaos in neighbouring China and Vietnam.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
