Seven economic cooperation projects worth 12.1 billion yuan (about 1.7 billion U.S. dollars) between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and ASEAN countries were signed Sunday in the southern Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen.
 
The signing was completed during the 2023 ASEAN-China Greater Bay Economic Cooperation (Qianhai) Forum that ran from July 29 to 30, which covered industrial park construction, digital economy and agricultural cooperation.

"ASEAN and China should be having closer relations, because in the future, we are going to develop this kind of thing with technology, with innovations that we have concerns into the protection of the environment. And China, if it is compared with ASEAN countries, it is still China having more advanced technology. And you know that other countries, they are not willing to share the technology to the ASEAN countries, but we see a good willingness coming from China to share this knowledge to our countries. So I have very great expectations for the future cooperation between China and ASEAN countries."

"I believe that the cooperation between the two regions will become faster and more efficient."
 
The Greater Bay Area-ASEAN International Chamber of Commerce Alliance and the China-ASEAN Think Tank Partnership were established at the forum. The forum also resulted in an initiative concerning a closer Greater Bay Area-ASEAN economic partnership.
 
More than 150 foreign guests, including representatives from the governments of all 10 ASEAN countries, diplomatic agencies in China, chambers of commerce, think tanks and enterprises, attended the forum.
