At least one person died, and dozens were injured as Typhoon Khanun, locally named Typhoon No. 6, hurtled near the Okinawa islands and southern Kyushu on Wednesday, August 2 and Thursday, August 3.

The typhoon caused widespread flooding and damage and knocked out power for over 200,000 homes.
