The owners of the Crooked House, known as "Britain's wonkiest pub", have been ordered to rebuild it after the building was demolished in 2023.

The pub located in Himley, near Birmingham, was burnt down in August 2023 just two weeks after it was sold to new owners.

On February 27, 2024, the new owners were served with an enforcement notice for the unlawful demolition of the building that was built in 1765.

They've been told to rebuild the pub to what it was before the fire and must complete this within three years.

A scene of devastation after The Crooked House pub was set alight around 10pm on Saturday night.

West Midlands and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 10pm on Saturday night to reports the building was well alight.

The former boozer was located deep in woodland in Himley (Staffordshire) near the town of Dudley.

The blaze tore through the 18th century wonky pub which had been trading for 192 years until it closed in July.

The building boasted a unique leaning effect which caused several optical illusions including marbles that would seemingly roll up walls.

The property had stood for hundreds of years, built in 1765, it was sold off to a private buyer for 'alternative use' for an undisclosed price in July 2023.
