Helicopter crews from the Hawaii Army National Guard have joined the fight to extinguish wildfires that have claimed 53 lives so far.

Footage from August 9 shows two CH47 Chinook helicopters executing an impressive 58 water bucket drops over five hours, pouring over a hundred thousand gallons of water onto the blazing inferno.

According to reports, 53 people have been killed by the wildfires and around 1,000 are missing.
