The jumbos were decorated with colorful silk cloth while they walked along roads and collected donations from residents in Surin, northeast Thailand, on August 2.
Buddhist Lent is also known as Khao Phansa. It is an annual celebration that marks the start of the three-month rainy season retreat for monks in Theravada Buddhism. It is celebrated in countries such as Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
