A Philippine expert hailed the role of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in promoting the health and well-being of people in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative at a symposium in Fuzhou, east China's Fujian Province on Friday.

"We have developed very good linkages and cooperation between the Philippines and China for traditional Chinese medicine. So we already have traditional Chinese medicine in the Philippines for the last three years. I think traditional Chinese medicine will help a lot in the Belt and Road Initiative because it will open the eyes of the Filipinos that it is not only about business and commerce, but it is also about health and the well-being of the Filipinos and Chinese alike."

The ASEAN-China (Fujian) TCM Symposium attracted around 20 experts and scholars from China and ASEAN countries.
