STORYLINE:

At the ongoing 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing, foreign investors have expressed confidence in strengthening services trade cooperation.

On the sidelines of the event, a promotion conference on greater openness in the service sector was held for the first time.

The conference, titled "Invest in China Year," highlighted the potential of China's expanding services trade.

Domestic and foreign investors engaged in project negotiations on-site with representatives from 11 pilot provinces and cities, covering 35 projects in total.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): ROBERTO GRANDE, CEO, Dragonfly Entertainment
"We see so much potential in the Chinese market both currently and into the future. We've been so impressed by the openness and dynamism and scale that we've seen in all elements of industry and commercial opportunity here.
And we see a similar opportunity in music festival and the music industry where we aim to share some of our knowledge and experience from our own markets and bring that into the Chinese market."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): GYORGY MOLCSANYI, Co-founder, Hungary VR Park
"We would like to open a virtual reality themed family amusement park in China and our first place to start would be Ningbo. So we aim to invest into VR development and family amusement park in China. China is at the forefront of tech development. So we think China is a great place to invest in."

SOUNDBITE 3 (Chinese): YANG KE, Director & President, Hong Kong Green Element Investment Group
"CIFTIS has set up a great platform for international investors and domestic projects in the service sector. (The Chinese market) has a large volume and there is a growing number of pilot projects. We have always been very confident in China's sustainable growth in economic development."
