A mannerless monkey snatched a banana from a tourist and then slapped him in the face as he fed him.

The rude macaque begged for snacks around the sea viewing deck and sat beside holidaymaker Kannika Suttaon before impatiently grabbing the fruit in Chonburi province, Thailand on August 19.

Footage shows the primate pulling the food from Kannika's hand and hitting the man's face while it shrieked at him.

Despite the animal's aggressive behaviour, the sightseer continued handing the animal more fruit, littering the area with peels.

Monkeys in Thailand have become accustomed to tourists feeding them and they will often become aggressive. They have also been known to steal food and belongings from tourists.
