Locals tucked into a giant wedding cake during a week-long celebration event in the Philippines.

Footage shows hungry shoppers jostling for a slice of the massive dessert at the SM City Baguio shopping mall in Benguet province on September 2.

Jeffrey Ng, chair of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio, said the huge, four-tiered cake's base measured 24 feet x 18 feet, and required a whopping 625 kilos of flour and 480 kilos of butter to complete.

Twenty-five professional chefs and 40 student bakers worked together to create the masterpiece, he said.

The final cake had chocolate truffle, red velvet, banana, carrot cake, and blueberry vanilla flavours. It was made to celebrate the local Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism week, which coincided with Baguio City's charter anniversary and the wedding of 11 couples.
