Hundreds of uprooted trees lined the surface of a river in Lao Cai, Vietnam, following a flood that hit the area.

Footage from September 13 shows a team of boaters trying to navigate through the river.

Heavy rain in the area caused floodwater to flow down the mountainous area and sweep away trees, mud, and rocks into the river below.

Video captured the moment of Thousands of trees covered the river after a flash flood in Lao Cai, Northern Vietnam.
According to local people, a terrible flash flood appeared on the top of the mountain and swept thousands of trees as well as rocks and soil down the river. The huge amount of rock and soil along with trees covered the river and made it impossible for boats to travel.
Heavy rain in the area caused sudden flash floods, causing dozens of houses to be destroyed and the river to be covered with rocks and trees.
Remediation work is underway.
