Millions of Yemenis face alarming threats from hunger and malnutrition, Oxfam, a UK-based charity group said on Tuesday in a report.

"Over a third of the Yemeni population are facing extreme hunger, with rates of child malnutrition amongst the highest in the world," it said, urging more international aid.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 21.6 million people are currently in need of humanitarian assistance in Yemen.

One of the major problems there is health care. Health care centres have been devastated. Local people are running out of medicines and blood supplies. Due to the economic crisis, there are no funds to pay staff salaries, medicines and purchasing medical equipment.
