The footage, filmed through the scopes of the sniper rifles, shows the first Russian soldier being taken out by a Ukrainian sniper, with the second part of the footage showing the second Russian soldier being shot.

The head of the Ukrainian Ground Forces said that the snipers had used a Barrett MRAD 338 rifle and that the shots had been taken at a distance of 1,500 metres (0.93 miles).

The images were obtained from Oleksandr Stanislavovych Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Tuesday, 3rd October, along with a statement saying: 'The 'Ghost' group of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky destroyed two Russians from a distance of 1,500 metres.

'They worked with a Barrett MRAD 338 rifle.'

The Barrett MRAD 338 is a bolt-action sniper rifle designed by the American arms manufacturer Barrett.

The images and statement were also relayed by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday, October 4.
