Friends surprise fangirl, 50, with BTS boyband member Jungkook's cardboard cutout
Supportive friends surprised a 50-year-old fangirl with a cardboard cutout of her favourite boyband BTS member.
Ping Fanuga was celebrating her golden birthday when her guests whipped out the life-sized standee of South Korean pop idol Jeon Jung-kook in Iloilo City, the Philippines, on October 4.
Footage shows the celebrant looking confused when two women arrived at her party while carrying a large board to the front of the hall before turning excited when she realised what it was.
Ping ripped the paper that covered the large printout revealing Jungkook wearing a suit while his chest was bared and showed his abdomen.
She said: 'I had a surprise special guest on my 50th birthday. My best friends gave me a Jungkook standee since I'm a BTS army and a JK bias. I am a member of TOB or Titas of BTS, but I'm still single. BTS is my happy pill.'
The Philippines has consistently ranked as one of the top countries for the boyband's fans on social media and streaming platforms. In 2022, the developing country became the second-biggest audience for the group on Spotify after the U.S.
