A windsurfer got more than he bargained for when a huge humpback whale breached and completely wiped him out.

Jason Breen, 55, from Sydney, New South Wales, Australia was dragged 30-feet below the surface in the freak accident which happened off the coast of Mona Vale Beach.

In a video of the incident, Breen can be heard shouting: "S***, I just got hit by a whale!"

Breen feared for his life after the whale got attached to part of his equipment which meant he got pulled under the water.

He told local media: ""Luckily, I felt the leash break and from there I got released from under the whale's body and was able to come to surface."

"I thank my lucky stars that something that's not supposed to break broke and ringed the webbing out."

After returning to the shore, Breen found that his GoPro recorded the whole incident.

The footage was captured on October 25.
