This is the dramatic moment a runaway trailer that was being towed behind a pickup truck hit a parked plane.

CCTV cameras captured the accident with the Boeing 737 at Hangzhou Airport in Zhejiang Province, eastern China, at around 2 am on October 26.

The video shows the trailer suddenly becoming detached from the pickup truck that towed it along. As the vehicle's driver hits the brakes, the trailer keeps on moving towards Xiamen Airlines plane B-1457 which was parked nearby overnight.

A man then ran out of the truck and panically chased after the trailer. He was joined by another airport worker who apparently witnessed the incident and two jumped on both sides of the trailer in a bid to stop it.

But it just kept on moving and dragged both of them along until it struck one of the aircraft's engines, where it finally halted.

According to official reports, the engine's intake cowling, which is the outer shell that surrounds and protects the front part of the engine, sustained minor damage during the incident.

No injuries have been reported. The aircraft has since been repaired and has resumed normal operations. The cause of the incident is currently under further investigation.
