The strong flooding of the Iguazu River caused damage in the Iguazu National Park, where on October 29 part of the footbridges that run along the falls collapsed.

The concessionaire company of the tourist services was able to verify that 60% of the sections were displaced from the pillars and at least five bridges were swept away by the current.

Iguazu National Park remains closed for the third consecutive day due to safety issues related to the atypical water flow in the area. This morning it was reported that some 24,100 cubic meters per second were moving in the Iguazu River, while by midday a peak of 28,000 cubic meters per second was expected, almost 20 times the average of that watercourse.

This video illustrates the falls during the flooding of the Iguazu River on October 31.
