The Nepal Buddhist Lotus Shramnerika (Ani) Sangha has organised three-day 6th world peace Monlam prayer in Lumbini November 2nd to 4th.

Nepal Buddhist Lotus Shramnerika (Ani) Association has been performing Monlam Puja at Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini every year through Mahayana tradition. Khemo Dolpa Chhiring Lama, founder president of the association, said that Monlam Puja has been performed for the past 6 years to convey the message that the birthplace of Buddha is Nepal and Lumbini and to wish for peace around the world. We are doing special praying for Nepal earthquake people's died .

Lama said for followers of Buddhism, they want to see increased religious activities in Lumbini. Pujas like Monlam, especially in the presence of Lama Gurus, are of great help in bringing religious tourism to Lumbini. Stating that the pooja has started for this year, the same pooja will be held in Lumbini in November and December as well. Such activities in Lumbini will attract religious tourists and it will help to further spread the teachings and message of Buddha.
