In the early hours of the 12th of November, emergency services rushed to the 10100 block of Clearwing Ln. in response to a blazing fire at a two-story, four-unit family residence. Roscoe Police Department, Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department, and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department joined forces upon arrival.

Witnessing smoke and fire engulfing the building, officers learned that a second-floor apartment was occupied. Displaying remarkable courage, Roscoe Police officers forced entry, locating an adult occupant who revealed two juveniles in a rear bedroom. The swift action of the Sergeant and officers ensured the safe evacuation of the family. All involved parties, including the officers, received immediate medical attention from Harlem-Roscoe Fire EMS and were treated at the scene.

An ongoing investigation, led by the IL. State Fire Marshal and Harlem Roscoe Fire investigators, aims to determine the cause of the fire that left one side of the residence missing.
